Inkwell Insights in Social and Religious Studies (IISRS)

The Inkwell Insights in Social and Religious Studies Journal (IISRJ), ISSN: 3079-4625 (Print) 3079-4633 (Online), welcomes original research articles, review articles, case studies, and commentaries that contribute to the fields of social sciences, religious studies, humanities, and interdisciplinary research. Authors are requested to adhere to the following guidelines when preparing their submissions.

 

Submission Categories

Research Articles: Original and significant contributions to the field, typically 5,000 to 8,000 words.

Review Articles: Comprehensive analyses of recent developments, usually between 6,000 to 10,000 words.

Case Studies: Detailed examinations of specific instances or practices, ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 words.

Commentaries: Brief, thought-provoking discussions on current issues, up to 2,500 words.

 Languages

Manuscripts are accepted in English, Arabic, and Urdu. Authors must ensure their submissions adhere to the grammatical and stylistic standards of the chosen language.


Submission Guidelines

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively via the journal’s online submission system.

  • Submissions should be original and not under consideration by other publications.

2. Format

  • File format: Submit the manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).

  • Font:

    • For English: Times New Roman, 12-point size.

    • For Arabic: Traditional Arabic, 14-point size.

    • For Urdu: Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, 14-point size.

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing.

  • Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.

  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers at the bottom right corner.

3. Title Page

Include the following information:

  • Title of the manuscript (concise and informative).

  • Full names of all authors, with their affiliations.

  • Corresponding author’s contact details (email, phone number).

  • Acknowledgments (if any).

4. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: Provide a structured abstract of 250–300 words summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: List 4-6 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.

  • For Arabic and Urdu submissions, the abstract and keywords must also be provided in English.

5. Main Text

The main body of the manuscript should follow this structure:

  • Introduction: State the purpose of the study and provide relevant background.

  • Materials and Methods: Describe the methodology in sufficient detail to allow replication.

  • Results: Present findings clearly and concisely.

  • Discussion: Interpret results in the context of existing knowledge.

  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their implications.

6. Figures and Tables

  • Include figures and tables within the text, numbered sequentially.

  • Provide descriptive captions for all figures and tables.

  • Ensure high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) for images.

7. References

  • Use APA (7th Edition) referencing style for English submissions.

  • For Arabic and Urdu submissions, references must follow internationally recognized formats and be transliterated into English if needed.

  • Ensure that all references cited in the text are listed in the references section and vice versa.


Ethical Considerations

1. Authorship

  • All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research.

  • The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring all authors approve the final manuscript.

2. Plagiarism

  • Submissions must be original. Plagiarism will result in immediate rejection.

3. Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

4. Research Ethics

  • Studies involving human participants or animals must comply with institutional and national ethical guidelines.


Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

  • The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks.

  • Decisions will be communicated as: Accepted, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Rejected.


Submission Checklist

Ensure the following before submission:

  • Manuscript adheres to the formatting guidelines.

  • All figures and tables are included and labeled appropriately.

  • References are formatted in APA (7th Edition) style (or equivalent for Arabic/Urdu submissions).

  • Ethical declarations (e.g., conflicts of interest, ethics approval) are included.
