Amina Wadud is a prominent scholar in Islamic feminism who has raised several questions about traditional Quranic interpretations, particularly regarding the narrative of the creation of women. She argues that traditional exegetes have infused patriarchal views into the interpretation of Quranic verses, thereby portraying women as inferior to men, which has limited women's social and religious roles. According to Wadud, the Quran’s original teachings are based on principles of equality and justice, but historical interpretations have distorted these principles.

This article critically examines Wadud's objections and presents an in-depth analysis of Quranic verses related to the creation of women. The analysis provides a scholarly response to Wadud’s critiques, using Islamic principles, especially those of justice and equality. The goal of this study is to offer an interpretation of the Quranic narrative that reveals the true essence of Islamic teachings, emphasizing equality between men and women, while addressing the shortcomings in Wadud's perspectives. This research aims to bridge the gap between Islamic feminism and traditional exegesis, helping to better understand the existing tensions between the two approaches.
